OPENB
I had a the frame of my single stack drilled to mount a Cheely mount, and run a Kimber .22 conversion as an open practice gun. I decided to shoot some single stack division this year. Are the holes in my Gov't. frame OK for SS division? I'm confident they would be a problem in the slide, but not sure for the frame. Would they be considered a weight saving feature? They are just the standard 5 holes in the left side of the frame. I searched the forum, but did not find what I was looking for. Steve RA
Put plug screws in them and truck on.
Sarge
Bob, FWIW I think you would be good to go. For one, there is not even any mention of cutting or drilling a frame, only the slide. And part of the wording in that rule is: Cuts that are designed to specifically or significantly lighten the slide, such as holes, or slots, are ruled as competitive advantage and prohibited. CMore holes are DESIGNED to mount a scope mount, not lighten the gun. You could always email DNROI. Right or wrong you will get a ruling! OPENB
I saw that Kevin, but then I thought what if someone's 9mm SS was too heavy, one could drill some holes in the frame to lighten it up. Maybe I'm overthinking it.I guess I could get some threaded set screws to plug the holes too. Or, I never need a reason to buy a new gun.
