Was wondering if doing so takes anything away from the traction of the stippling? Does the paint make the grips noticeably slicker? I want to send my grip in to be painted if I do this. Can anybody point me towards a company that will paint my grip as opposed to selling me a new grip? Or is there a DIY method? troupe Posted February 20, 2014 Share Posted February 20, 2014 The paint that is applied does thicken the grip and can make it a little smoother. The texture is usually rough enough that it may out way the paint. That is the reason that I only do the factory colors, but the painted grips do look cool from some of the grip masters.
