jeremy45
Hey everyone, I am looking at putting a KKM barrel into my Gen 4 Glock 17. How hard are they to fit and is it necessary to have a gunsmith do it or are some files and patience enough to get it done? I look forward to hearing your input, Jeremy
Stev7783
I fitted one by myself on my 17 gen 3. They are pretty much drop in.
mwx40x40
I am curious if folks find these barrels need to throated and feedramps polished?
Stev7783
I polish feed ramps on all my barrels stock or aftermarket. I run a KKM in my open 17 gen three and polished the feed ramp just ensure I don't have any feed issues.
Rick88
They are tight but with good ammo it shouldnt be an issue Edited February 2, 2014 by Rick88
Stev7783
I agree, the chamber is a much tighter fit with ammo but with good hand loads it works perfect, I trust KKM barrels and recommend them to anyone.
HOGRIDER
My Son purchased a KKM for his G17G4 and it was basically a drop in. Definitely improved the lock-up. I bought a semi-drop in Bar-Sto for my G17G4 that only required stoning at the rear of the hood. Excellent fit and lock-up. Son is very satisfied with his KKM. rrickysee
I am curious if folks find these barrels need to throated and feedramps polished? I bought a kkm drop in for my Gen4 G34. It has run flawlessly. No need to do anything. It dropped right in and has run everything i put in it. I have been very happy with it. I can't say the same for my Lone Wolf i bought for a Gen3 G17. darkvibe
I have one in my gen 4 G35. I did not have to fit it, it dropped in. Lockup is much tighter than factory.
islandracing
I just installed a KKM barrel in a Glock 35. I had to make a minor adjustment to the feed ramp base pad by removing .003. This was so the barrel would clear the locking block when you put the slide on the frame. Seems I have somewhat of a high locking block on this gun. Not a big deal.Everything has a tolerance. Since installation I have fired 800 rds of Moly coated bullets with no issues.
