cecil
I am currently using Dillon's carbide re-sizing die... but I am getting about 2 or 3 finished cartridges that won't fall into my case gauge.. it appears its the lower part of the brass that my die is not re-sizing less than 1/4"... so which 9mm die will re-size the most besides roll sizing my 9mm brass ? tia
Steve RA
Lee carbide will size lower, you may have a little more problem lining up the case with the die as the Lee doesn't have as large a chamfer on the entrance. This, of course, is what lets it size a little lower on the case.
CeeZer
Hornady here, all good.

Sarge
EGW U die.
Fullauto_Shooter
EGW U die. +1 - that's what I use and very rarely have one that doesn't easily pass the gauge.
thegunnerd
Lee carbide sizing die , does the job very well .
BeerBaron
regular lee sizing die for me with a lee FCD on the last station for post-size and crimp. does not swage bullets and everything passes a tight spec EGW case gauge. only glock brass I get off the range with a pronounced band around the base won't pass (but short of a roll sizer I know of no way to fix those)... SWThomas
Will they pass the plunk test in your barrel? If so, disregard the case gauge.
BeerBaron
yeah, to be fair a case gauge like the EGW (being the minimum saami spec for a 9mm chamber) is going to be a bit tighter than probably 90% of barrels out there. I know plenty that fail in my EGW will still chamber easily in my CZ barrel but these days I just don't risk it.
Tattoo
Case gauge them all. If they do not fit with a plunk....I shoot them in practice. Got hosed at an Area 1 once prior to case gauging....... Not again.

coordinator
Dillon dies in conjunction with a Lee Factory Crimp die in the last station. That combination has solved the problem for me.
fishsticks
I had the same issue, and went with the Lee "U" die. I load mixed range pick-up and rejects went way, way down. Occasionally see one that once gauge or one that fails during sizing. The other thing that helps is using One shot or other case lube.
Gussers
I've been using the Lee sizer and have had no issues. I actually remarked on how much brass is left "unsized" on cases my friend does with the Dillon dies. He hasn't had any issues either, but the Lee definitely gets lower on the case. Blankenhole
I use hornady for 9 and Lee for 45. Sounds like a EGW/Lee U die is what you need though
