Hi I am having trouble with one of my speed loader . Some times when you give it the twist you don't hear that click to tell you its locked. and the dam thing spring open at any time, letting the rounds go every where. Anyone know of a way to fix this or is the loader garbage?. I have tried washing it in warn soapy water and then using air to dry it.

Jab, Has the speedloader been taken apart? There is a cross pin in the lower part of the speedloader that can protrude a little on one side, check that. Pictures may help cause all we can do is guess at this point. If it has been reworked it may have to much tension on the large spring. It is a simple piece, but sometimes exasperating. Unless the body has been broken it should be repairable. later rdd

Nope it has never been apart, yea there a pin you can see sticking out where the spring is on the body of the speed loader

If it is sticking out one side more than the other, push it in until it centers. I hope this is helpful. Later rdd

When mine quit working, I discovered that the plunger at the end that goes over the center pin on the cylinder had expanded and was binding in it's hole. The reason it expanded was the plastic it's made of is too soft. I took the offending loaders apart and turned down the outside of that part on the lathe so it would move freely again. You could probably chuck it in a drill press and sand or file it.
