jkushner1
Can anyone provide a Bianchi powder puff load in 45 acp. Power factor estimate, powder type, grains, etc - I have a long slide ported with iron sights in 45 acp that I want to shoot in a bianchi match. I have plenty of 9mm's and 38 super, just want to shoot this 45 acp long slide. Jon
Kimberkid
Way back in the day my uncle shot a .45 comp gun for Bianchi and used a 155 gr. lead bullet, semi wadcutter type and (I think) bullseye powder. Id say load enough pwder to make 800 fps and remember to use lots of lead time on the mover. I can find out the exact loading for you if you like, I shot that gun before and it was ultra soft. Carmoney
My attention was attracted to this string, which from the previous screen appears as: "Loads for Bianchi -- the bra...." I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was to see nothing more here than just another ammo discussion....
Dirty Steve
Good luck finding a 155gr 45 bullet. Unless you cast. I think Lee Makes a mold, RCBS might. I know Magma Engineering makes one. I used to shoot it at 1000 fps. Then I went to a 40 cal, and now I'm at a 9mm. Wish I woulda went here first I would have saved money on guns and molds. Dirty Steve, Out. Kimberkid
The local shop here stocks a 155 gr. semi wadcutter .45 bullet. It is cast here locally, and you can probably order it direct shipped to your house if you want it. I think current price is like $15.95 per 500. Kingman
wow 15.95 per 500 is dirt cheap. I actually shoot 170's I don't really care for the 155's feeding in my gun.
Dirty Steve
I have never had a problem with 155's feeding the ones from Magma Molds look like a thumb tack. A big circle with a long thin post in the center. Dirty Steve, Out.
jkushner1
Kimber - my local gun shop / bullet maker also stocks 155 grain SWC's. Better Bullets - King of Prussia, PA - He makes some of the best lead in the country. He'll also load to your favorite recipe with very quick turn around times. Their great people - ask for Pat or Roger Burris - http://www.betterbullets.com/ Thanks Jkushner1
jkushner1
Kingman: You say 155 then you 170 over 3.5 grains Bulleseye ?. What are you chrono'ing at for these loads, I'm assuming your making minor of 125 pf. The pressure has to be no more than 7,000 psi.
