currahee1911
Hi, .45 ACP shells often wobble around in the shellplate making sizing-priming a manual relocation process. Adjusted the cam per instructions: no fix. Haven't contacted Dillon yet. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Any solution? Thanks, C.
dillon
Be sure the shellplate is on rightside up. The #1 should be visible on top of the plate. next, push down on the edge of the shellplate between stations 2 and 3. If It feels springy, then the shellplate bolt needs to be tighter. Youngeyes
Check that the "paper clip" thingee is adjusted properly. It's what holds the case in place on stage 1. Edited January 22, 2014 by Youngeyes
currahee1911
um, that's the problem: paper clip disappears when casefeeder is attached; thus nothing to stabilize the case.
Youngeyes
um, that's the problem: paper clip disappears when casefeeder is attached; thus nothing to stabilize the case. Sorry. You are right. Forgot the casefeeder part. Watch how the feeder arm is pushing the case. Sometimes the case can be pushed too hard and can bounce out just enough to cause problems. Also I've had issues with the 45acp where the case catches on the edge of the plate, just before entering the shell plate cutout, and wobbles for a second causing crushed cases. leewongfei
Why dont you call Dillon directly? The no BS lifetime guarantee means that they will take the time to talk (or walk) you through everything.
1911 S.I.S.sy
If you haven't fixed it yet. Remember that the case feeder plunger hits the case twice. Once on the bottom and once about half way up or so. I found the second time is the more critical of the two. You really just want it to kiss it at that point. To much and it will start to wobble around like you described. Just adjust the linkage. It is a. PITA in my opinion to get it setup. I still like it though once I figured it out.
