Please mark June 21 & 22 on your calendars for the 2014 Briley West Coast Steel Championships at the ISI West Coast Steel ranges in Wes Thompson's, just outside of Piru, CA.

We just returned from the SHOT Show, where we received an incredible response from the industry. They really like what we are doing and are showing it with their support. Nearly all of our existing sponsors have returned and many new companies have jumped on board to become involved with our event. We will certainly exceed the 2013 prize table of $96,000 and 32 firearms.

Listed below are some preliminary match details. The 2014 Briley WCSC website: www.westcoaststeelchamps.com is now live. You can view the preliminary list of our over 75 sponsoring companies and the 2013 Virtual Prize Table, as well as download the entry form. As commitments begin to finalize, we will be updating the sponsor list and begin posting the 2014 VPT.

From all indications, the 2014 Briley WCSC will be the biggest, best, richest & most fun yet and one you won't want to miss.

• Seven ALL NEW, West Coast Steel, 5 plate stages (best 4 out of 5 runs); traditional steel shooting rules apply

• Centerfire handgun and Rimfire handgun & rifle divisions

• Merchandise prizes distributed to ALL competitors with order determined by random drawing.

• Multiple gun entries receive multiple trips to the prize table (Enter up to the maximum of 3 guns and if you’re REALLY lucky, you could be drawn to have the 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd picks of the table!)

• $500 cash bonus Mike Thompson Award for High Overall Winner

• Custom plaques awarded to winners of sponsored divisions and categories

• Mixon Targets is generously providing lunch from Don Chente Mexican Restaurants to those whose pre-registered entries are received by 6/10/14. One meal ticket will be provided per entry (maximum of 2 per competitor). Lunch, snacks & drinks will be available to all others at nominal cost.

• Competitors whose pre-registered entries are received by 5/15/14 will also receive a personalized name badge courtesy of our title sponsor, Briley.

• Archangel Mfg/ProMag and Tactical Solutions are hosting a special side event with proceeds benefitting the California Rifle and Pistol Association.

• Airsoft Extreme will be hosting an airsoft special side event.

• Open squadding with self-service RO/scoring; shooting begins at 7:30 AM each day

• As a courtesy to others, multiple gun shooters are STRONGLY encouraged to finish at least their first gun on Saturday and are required to begin competing w/ their final gun no later than 1 PM on Sunday. We expect to be done shooting by 3:30 on Sunday and distribute prizes shortly afterwards. Please schedule & manage your shooting accordingly! Enter & start shooting EARLY if you are shooting multiple guns!

• Range will be open for practice starting Wed, 6/18 ($20 daily range fee)

• A limited number of discounted rooms are available at the Valencia Marriott Courtyard Valencia. See the match website for online booking and book by 5/28/14 to receive discounted rates.

• The 2014 Briley WCSC is limited to 300 entries and is expected to sell out. Enter early to avoid disappointment; the 2013 event exceeded 300!

The 2014 Briley WCSC is now completely sold out.

Mike Dalton & I thank the 340 entries and the 83 sponsoring companies who have generously provided us with a prize table in excess of $115,000.

Everyone involved with the event has worked long & hard throughout the entire year to insure the quality of the Briley WCSC continues to exceed what everyone has come to expect from us.

We look forward to hosting what will be the biggest & best edition of the match to date and having an event with a safe, fun, family oriented atmosphere, where everyone goes home with a smile, full stomach, great memories and some nice souvenirs.

Many thanks to Jim O'Young and Mike Dalton for putting on a most enjoyable match again this year. This year my wife came out with me and shot her first match ever, of course having a ball! Greatest appreciation to all the countless sponsors who graciously provided an impressive prize table worth over $129,000.00, containing over 40 firearms. Logan Fowler, son to the renowned Mickey Fowler, put on a smoking performance taking high overall winner - shooting a Glock iron sighted pistol. Also impressive was the fact that the match pulled in competitors not only from across the U.S., but from also from around the world - including competitors from Japan, Brazil, Canada, and South Africa - to name just a few. Both my wife and I will be in attendance next year for sure. Many thanks again to Jim and Mike and the most generous sponsors for supporting the 2014 Briley West Coast Steel Championships.
