Therealkoop
Does it make a difference? Ive been sorting my brass, LC in one pile for 75g loads, and everything else in another pile for 55g stuff. Is it worth further sorting the LC based on trim length? Anywhere from 1.740-1.750. Thanks. mscott
I just trim everything and then know where it's at ..... especially for longer range ammo.
mpeltier
I don't think it's worth it. Maybee it is for bench rest shooters but for my 3-gun rifle it is reliable and holds MOA without sorting for length so I don't worry about it.
Steve RA
Sorting by brand will do more for you.
Doc Hunter
Trim every time - then sort by brand.
427Cobra
Unless your shooting competition Benchrest at a high level, trim length has zero effect on accuracy, but if your crimping your AR ammo varying trim lengths will result in some cases being crimped too much and some not at all, too much or too little with light neck tension and bad things may happen. Therealkoop
Thanks, I would trim every time but not all the brass is over 1.750 after the first firing. I was seperating trimmed (1.750) vs untrimmed (1.740-1.749) but it was annoying and didnt seem to do much.
Alaskapopo
Its faster for me just to run everying through my 1200 trimmer (Dillon) and size it vs sorting measuring and then trimming. Its faster for me to run the handle on my press vs. putting brass in a gauge and looking. Pat
