Bart Solo
I notice that several 1911 makers (STI, Springfield, RIA etc) are selling 9MM versions. Is it safe to assume the 9MM 1911 has a solid place in the IDPA game? Which division or divisions? ESP?
Marv Z
A 9mm 1911 in ESP is like an unfair advantage. It's like shooting a cap gun compared to a plastic gun. I love my Trojan and have it for no other reason than IDPA.
Sandbagger123
2011 in 9mm is even better
rowdyb
9mm 1911s seem to rule esp. i also think that's the only place they fit under the rules in idpa. when i was picking a purpose built esp gun, a 9mm 1911 was the first thing i considered. i bucked the trend with a cz75b sao, so we'll see how that goes. here in CA the most popular 9mm 1911 is the Springfield one, as it;s on the roster. v1911
2011 in 9mm is even better ^^ This. The only reason I got a 2011 built in 9mm.
Glocktogo
I bought a Dan Wesson PM-9 specifically for ESP this year. It is like cheating and I'm really enjoying it.
Craig N
I think LAV's current carry gun is a 9mm 1911 as per his tv show. The guys with 1911 9mms really do well but I'm love to try a 40 cal 1911 with a minor load .
GmanCdp
A 22cal 1911 gun will just about recoil as much as a 2011 9mm.
19852
I had one for a while but I was faster with a CZ 75 SAO. The CZ has the advantage of plentiful, reliable 10 round plus magazines.
GForceLizard
The down side to using a CZ 75 in ESP is the lack of magwell. Where do you find one? I need all the help I can get with fast reloads. Add a magwell to a 2011. Anyone with a mill can make it fit the box. If your heart is set on 1911 it's also a great choice. Boxerglocker
Love my STI Spartan in 9mm tricked out for ESP
xdcr
2011 in 9mm is even better I I 2nd (or 3rd) that! A STI Eagle with a bushing bbl makes a nice ESP gun. And a limited minor USPSA gun as a bonus!
Sac Law Man
Its the ultimate IDPA gun..
