george76904
Does anyone here know where either of these are to be had in any caliber except 10mm. I know gunbroker has a few and if all else fails thats probably where I will go to get one. The only reason that I want a stock one or a limited pro is that I decided I wanted a competition frame on my shory open pistol and these are the only models that EAA offers that have a short length open gun. Does anybody know anywhere else these pistols can be found?
CleverUsername
The stock one doesnt use the same comp frame as the others. Its more of a dressed up standard frame. Gunbroker is your best bet or get a stock2 or hunter (cheapest 2 comp frames) and cut it.
kneelingatlas
My advice: get a Hunter and cut the dust cover to the desired length. Hunter top ends are not easy to come by and generally sell for half the price of the pistol.
kneelingatlas
Beat me to it! I want to add: find someone who wants the top end first to determine the caliber.
george76904
While I will admit I had though about that I really don't want to cut up the frame.
CleverUsername
You would have to drill the frame for optics so you might as well grab a hunter or a used limited to at least save you that process.
gennaro
Agree with Kneelingatlas and CleverUserName, If your intension is to build an Open shorty gun yourself, look at getting a frame with the holes already pre-drilled for an optic, one less thing to try and get exactly right. Cutting a dust cover is not that difficult if you take your time and go slow, ( measure ten times, sleep on it, then measure again before you make your final cut ). Think about every part you want to use before you spend any money or cut anything off. The best of luck , keep us posted.
george76904
Well guys I already drilled and tapped the slide and put a custom mount on it to accept an optima. The open upper is completly done I have been running it on just my normal frame but am looking to upgrade.
