texasref
I'm going to start loading 147gn, 9mm, 1.156" OAL. (Bullets will be coated). The load data that I have shows 2.8 gns of Titegroup to be the max. However shooters with more rounds under thier belt are going to 3.1 or 3.2 gns of TG. Compared to the book this seems like a lot. I'm shooting these out of a XDm, 4.5". I'd like to make PF of around 130.
Steve RA
You have to consider that the manuals are a guide only. You can use their data as a safe starting point (their lowest loads shown) and then develop your own personal loads from there. When you do this you should have some experience in loading and a chronograph. Work up slowly watching for pressure signs - primer condition - velocities and don't go wild and exceed the manuals top loads shown by a whole lot. RePete
I loaded 147gr Bayou Bullets with 3.3gr/TG for an OAL of 1.142". This was for IDPA.,
texasref
I'll start with a range of 2.5 to 3.1. See what that does. Just wanted to make sure there werer no pressure issues with the higher charge wieght.
mgardner
Remember it doesn't take much of an increment in a powder charge this light to spike pressures. Go very cautiously.
fastluck13
The bullet and the OAL matter a lot. As does the gun you are using. A chrono helps work up a load safely.

SD1
2.8 is a steel challenge load. Most guns will need a recoil spring change Edited January 12, 2014 by SD1
