pmclaine
Just starting to get into .223 loading. When I develop a load I hope to be able to bulk load on my S1050. I'd like some peace of mind regarding my powder drops and hope to use a powder check. With the little testing I've done it seems the powder check does not work as nicely in .223 as it does in .45 ACP or .38 Spcl. Not surprising as the brass sensor is just slightly smaller than the neck opening on the .223 case and alignment has to be perfect. Anyone have any tricks for using the powder check when loading small necked cases? Edited January 11, 2014 by pmclaine
StealthyBlagga
I modified mine quickly and easily; I chucked it up in a drill press and reshaped it using files and then abrasive paper until it was the shape below (original on left, modified on right): Now it works 100%, with zero false alarms. My friends have done the same and report it works equally well for them. HTH
pmclaine
Sweet. Thought this would be the answer but wanted to see it had been proven.
