DonSingleStack45
My firing pin broke. I bought an STI titanium firing pin it doesn't fit. Is there a certain type of firing pin to buy?
Guest
The Springfield 9mm/38 super slides use a different size firing pin, specifically a 0.075 diameter. Ed Brown and EGW makes them: http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/slide-firing-parts/firing-pin-parts/firing-pins/1911-auto-firing-pin-prod1323.aspx?avs|Make_3=1911 http://www.brownells.com/handgun-parts/slide-firing-parts/firing-pin-parts/firing-pins/1911-auto-firing-pin-prod26865.aspx Or you can make them from the standard 0.090 diameter .45 firing pins. I have a little collet specifically for holding the firing pin in a lath chuck so you can easily turn a .45 pin down, but you can do it without a collet also.
