stasikpasik
Zen isn`t a religion. The formation of religion is based on the recognition of the existence of an entity transcendent to the forces of nature or man. I`ve always maintained that Zen is the experience of discovering one's "true self" and then trying to personify that found self. The object of Zen is ultimately the human "I" and nothing else. I`m a parishioner of portland oregon churches for several years now, I came there with a problem that was weighing me down and zen didn't help me deal with it. However, after talking to the pastor, I felt better from the first meeting. Edited September 5, 2022 by stasikpasik
Miranda
you are hear to talk zen? ok.... after you complete your journey to one's true self... who did you find? I want for a better way to ask... what is your next journey? I know there are many more skilled than me and I did go looking for transcendent entities... Odd at it may seem, I do not have any answers I trust. so If that search/journey is one way to practice 'zen' then yes Zen can be a religion. I can't say zen is not a religion, in much the same way I can't say zen is a detergent however, I can say zen can be a way to remove smudges from thought... miranda
