neckbone
I was thinking it would be nice to have a round counter on my 550B. Has anyone rigged something like that up on their progressive press?
Sarge
Did you try a search? I typed Dillon Round counter into the search box and got several pages of hits. This is a good one: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=144761#entry1624737
Sarge
And FYI, Dillon used to make a round counter. They come up for sale every now and then. But to be honest most people just count empty primer trays to keep track.

jmorris
I have Installed PLC controls on reloaders before that count down primers remaining from 100 to zero (it also resets automatically when you refill the tube) and keep a running total of rounds reloaded. neckbone
A PLC is more than I want to spend. LOL Herky has me covered with something. Thanks for the ideas.
SWThomas
I just put a tick mark on a note pad when I have to top off the primer magazine. Works for me and costs $0.00.
Brassaholic13
I like user SD624's idea of the counter and microswitch on the exit ramp. Think I'm gonna pick up one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271033537471?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 and power it with two 9V batteries in series. I can't imagine that it would use much power.
kcannaday2011
Check this one out also, more money but I'm very happy with it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Press-Counter-II-Basic-Model-for-Dillon-550-650-Hornady-Counter-Press-Light-/291050044717?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c3ef3d2d

flyingrhino
I made a prgrammable infra red counter that counts the rounds that slide down the chute. Total cost about $15. Uses a cheap calculator from Walmart as the programmable part. A few electronic parts from Radio Shack and a little pcboard soldering. Can count up or count down or track powder thrown, whatever you want. Sorry for no picks at the moment because I'm at work. If anyone is interested I can put together the parts list and a wiring diagram.
