Silver_Surfer
Is there a minuim weight of powder that should not be dropped with the Dillion powder drop? I have went as low as 2.5grs of Green Dot working up a 40 minor load using 200gr bullets. 2.5 was of course to low but made me wonder. chevyoneton
As long as a load meters consistently I don't know why it would not be fine. I bought the XS (extra small) powder bar just for doing little bitty charges for loading .380 but have not used it yet.

TonyK
Bit of an update on that post, yes it was mine... Unless you load really small stuff, the extra small bar is pretty much a waste of money. The extra small bar is just a machined version of the small bar that allows it to close down smaller for the tiny charges of something like a 32acp. It will also drop a larger charge than the small bar and due to that machine work the extra small bar may not be as consistent when used for slightly larger drops compared to the v shape of the recess of the regular small powder bar. The picture will show you the difference. Extra small bar is on the right and has the square end in the recess. Thickness of the bars is exactly the same... To find out if you really need it close down your small bar as far as it will go and run your chosen powder through it. If you get consistent charges of the weight you need then you are fine. If it won't give you what you need then consider the extra small bar. Important thing to remember is that the powder bars are about volume not weight. For an example without changing the setting of my small powder bar it will drop 6.5 grains of Autocomp or 5.3 grains of 231. So even if you are loading light weight charges you may still have plenty of room left for adjustments.
truborshooter
Used the small powder bar for 1.6/AA#2 for 32SWL wadcutter bullseye loads back in the day. Don't know about flake powders but ball powders meters fine.
