Bullittmcqueen
Hysupra, excellent work my friend. You certainly have more patience and a better setup than when I did my 930. Mine's not as pretty but just as functional!
hysupra
Thanks a lot you guys. Talk about patience, I've stippled 3 handguns now, and every time I tell myself its the last. Now Im telling myself I have to do my 930. Its going to take months I feel like lol.
hysupra
I just finished up my father's Versamax Tactical. He loves it and it's a lot easier to load then before. Here's a couple pics of them lined up.
glock34shooter
I did my M2 this past week. I used a couple of files, a Dremel with sanding, buffing and polishing wheels. Finished it off with Flitz polish. The serial number on an M2 limits them size and depth of the bevel. GM2B
Nice work!!! I dremelled my M2 open to where I wanted it. It isn't pretty like many others but it works like a charm! Had a buddy weld the lifter.
hysupra
Nice job guys. If you guys notice that the m2/versamax is a lot skinnier then the mossberg. That limits you on what you can take out of course, and it makes the mossberg a lot more forgiving to little mistakes you might make.
BradfromND
Nice write up. I've been thinking of doing this to my M2 that I hunt with because my big thumbs get in the way loading it in the field.
hysupra
Nice you might want to buy the welded lifter from TTI while your at it. I got one in today and it was pretty nice. Here's a link for ya. http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_118&products_id=
Oskino
Man that turned out really nice, I opened my loading port the other day took me about an hour and it came out very similar to what yours looks like. I tried the file thing but that sucked and took a lot longer than I wanted. I used a die grinder and then finished off with 600 grit sandpaper and I also have mirror shine. I still have to weld up the lifter.

Therealkoop
If you are anything like me, you will only care about how shitty your lifter and reciever look for about 2 seconds. Oskino
and here were the stages of the lifter. FYI the photo with the yellow tape was there to guide me to put to groove back in the lifter trying to make it look original.

hysupra
Thanks guys, oskino how do you like the trigger guard cut? Worth the effort?
Oskino
I like it and have no regrets, the edge on the trigger guard was a sharp 90 and at times was irritating me. Now everything has a nice bevel and really smooth.
Nickoli
I like it and have no regrets, the edge on the trigger guard was a sharp 90 and at times was irritating me. Now everything has a nice bevel and really smooth.I did the same to mine, I just didn't do as much or put the grove in.the middle. Might have to go back and do that too. I found, since the JM load port is short, that my shell rims were hitting the trigger guard once I started loading quads. Smoothing out the edge helped. I think now I need to open up the front of the port a little more to really make quads easy.
