Are there any firms performing capacity limiting procedures on double stack magazines like Glock,CZ,Springfield etc.for the states that have the 10 round restrictions?I and alot of other XDM users would like to be able to aquire standard cap. mags. in the free states, have them modified and sent legally to our oppresed states. If not this could be a business opportunity for a gunsmith or? If I could get Springfield to just make a 10 round 40 s&w XDM 5.25 Competition,I'd be all over-it! It is time for Gun manufactures to start making these 10 version products available!

You'd think the demand for 10-rd mags would be enough for mec-gar to make some.

If it's legal to modify your own in your state, the EBR works stuff posted above is pretty nice. Also, Tracy Rifle and Pistol used to sell pre-blocked 10 rounders (http://www.tracyrifleandpistol.com/) but a friend who bought them found he couldn't get the 10th round in, because they had been blocked so....zealously.

If you're the do-it-yourself type, the best solution might be to epoxy two straight metal strips (such as one side cut from cheap, flat angle brackets at Home Depot). Epoxy them in the proper locations on the side of the mag once you're certain (much trial-error + testing required here), and the spring will travel normally, but the follower will get hung up on the metal strips, preventing it from accepting more than 10 rounds, assuming you have put the strips in the proper locations.

A guy who did this posted details on the web, but has since let it lapse, and the pictures are now gone, but the text can still be found in the wayback machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20120424003855/http://www.vaportrails.us/html/xdm.html

With any solution, keep in mind that if it does not work, you'll be the one charged with possession of a hi-cap mag....

I think it was magblock.com that had some inserts that can be epoxied in the bottom of the follower to limit to 10 rounds. I have about 20 of em for the 9 and 40 that I have and they block for a perfect 10 rounds and no more. It runs 100% too. The only hard part is getting someone to disassemble and ship the mags here.
