how important is the set screw in the comp?

the set screw hole on the comp doesnt have enough threads to hold it. is it ok just red lock tited?

seems like with this type of setup you will need to have some sort of set screw along with Loctite. You can try just red Loctite, but don't be disappointed if the comp doesn't clock on you at one point or another.

The right way, would be to screw the comp on with substantial threads, and have a set screw in place to ensure that your comp doesn't clock or move around. So personally I would take to a gunsmith to do this for you.

I have found that using a few layers of teflon tape and a light set with the set screw keeps the comp on perfectly throughout a match. Makes it easy to take off after the match for cleaning and you dont have to deal with the hassle of red Loctite....
