Input for ULTRA - COMP GLOCK

I know it's a bulletin from the department of the obvious, and Glock doesn't have a real track record of responding well to input, but why don't they come out with a "game gun"?

I know someone is going to scream 34/35 without reading this, but that's not what I meant. I mean a REAL competition gun. Well thought out, with the things shooters want to do to their guns, but often can't (as in IPSC prod)

Make it in 9 & .40 so it would be the gun for production or Standard. The standard gun could be a souped up 35. Production needs a new gun.

Put a little magwell accepting lip on the bottom, like on an S_I. Maybe get truly wild and even flair it a little. I mean it's plastic, help us out with the mold 'cause we can't do anything in IPSC prod, and attaching a magwell to what we have now for standard is pretty tough.

For God's sake put something other than a 2x4 up there for a front site. Heinie's should already be an option. Somthing maybe .100 wide.

Cut the barrel back to 5" (or whatever this week's production legal flavor is).

Put some front serrations on it to set it apart.

Offer a metal guide rod of several flavors.

how about a set of slick, light internals as a factory package?

Hey come on, if other manufacturers can game production, Glock should get off their duff and offer a better alternative.

I agree. It would be a great idea to have the frame with a built-in magwell similar to the S_I!

I think the rest of your ideas are good as well, but the shooter can easlity do these mods and stay within the rules. The magwell would need to be done at the factory to be Production legal.

I doubt they'd cut the barrel/slide back to 5 inches as it's too close to the G22. I personally like the G22 better than the G35, but I'm in the minority on that preference.

You could try to get your suggestions to Dave S or Julie G. Glock would likely listen to their factory shooters before they'd listen to you or me!

all that's true, I am just fantasizing about what IF they cared or listened, and we could get an ultimate base gun out of them for both production and standard.

For any of the cool stuff to be legal in IPSC production, THEY have to do it at the factory. The magwell lipped frame thing would help immensely, and cutting the barrel back to 5" would allow it in IPSC production.

The new production Glock would also make the hot base gun for Open.

Those things NEED something other than a golf ball .500" wide front site.

As to listening, the funny thing is I think most of the popular pistols today are results of "listening" to top (read IPSC and pre-IPSC shooters) from the 70's and early 80's. Look at all those goofy square trigger guards, on...well......EVERYTHING. ick.

Try listening again guys, we've evolved!!!

Because Glock, as a corporate policy, really doesn't care what the civilian market thinks.

I'm not sure about that. They put on their own shooting sport competitions almost every week across the country (GSSF), have hired a few competitive shooters, and sponsor many big USPSA/IDPA matches. How much of that is done to bolster their military/LEO contracts?
