praetorian97
Admittedly I'm a little vain when it comes to a guns look. Sometimes it trumps reason. Grips for example. I prefer thicker grips but the Henning and Eric Gs I have on my guns are too thin for my preference. But I have been trying to ignore it and get use to it. Now comes the experiment. I like the thickness of the stock grips but the brown doesn't do anything for me. One coat of "ebony" wood stain. Stock - Stained - Henning Two Coats A little darker but not sure how dark I can get it or if its even worth the effort.
Intercooler2
The one on the left looks like my new Limited. Dry and pale! Sell me the black panels!
kneelingatlas
Why not use ink? I'm thinking you could soak the cartridge of a Sharpie in alcohol or acetone, squeeze the ink out, then soak the grips in the solution.
sfinney
"Ebony" stain will still leave a little brown tint, but can get very dark. Multiple coats will help. If you are using a stain/varnish combo, it may not get much darker as now the wood is sealed. I'd use stain, several coats, then a matte or semi varnish to seal it at the end. I'd be worried about ink transfer on those hot days where my hands get real sweaty.
