Thank you for your insight. I had only heard people say that they didn't like them or that they were unsafe, I hadn't actually had a first hand account of what was happening from anyone.

I dont want to get into a real argument about it, but I think its natively unsafe. Basically you are pressing your trigger finger down on a button as you draw the gun the pressure of your finger can land it on the trigger with some inertia.

We had someone do that. Lucky for everyone when he did land on the trigger, and put pressure on it, and fired it, his gun didn't quite clear the holster yet the bullet traveled through the holster and hit the ground next to his foot.

Turns out he is not the only person to have done that.

this happened at a long range match recently with a small amount of pistol, a guy went to draw from his serpa and put a round thru his leg.

I just bought the Safariland ALS for my Glock 34 and I absolutely love it. I was really die hard for my Blackhawk Serpa (mostly because it was better than the stuff they issue to take down range) but, the ALS totally has this beat!
