Patrick Sweeney
I have to plan my travels and shopping carefully, for if I see a Krispy Kreme display, I have to get some. Mmmm, the flavors! Mmmmm, the coating! Mmmmmm, the calories! Its a good thing I have to walk the dog three times a day, or I'd be the Portly Professor Truth B. Quick! BigDave
Patrick, The next time you're through Indy, look up Long's Bakery on 16th & Tremont, between the Speedway and downtown. You'll be a changed man.
TriggerT
A dozen original Krispy Kreme's, a HUGE glass of ice cold milk, and you can call me a fat, happy man.
Vince Pinto
On each of my yearly visits to the USA, a supply of Krispy Kremes is mandatory. Oh yeah, there's also my pilgrimage to sHooters, but that's a whole new thread ......
Scooter
Now there's a big difference between Krispy Kreme donuts from the supermarket and ones straight off the hot oil.

rhino
There is a fly in the Krispy Kreme ointment, at least in the Indy area. Since they started marketing their wares in every grocery and convenience store known to mankind, it seems the Krispy Kreme stores have been closing! That means you can't get them hot from the fryer at the source!

tightloop
Bet it is like working for the Blue Bell icecream factory in Brenham,Tx...they let you eat all you want...after the first 2 or 3 weeks, you don;t want any more...
kimel
Ya know, you would think so. I managed a pizza parlor for almost 2 years and I can still eat pizza 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, if necessary. Damn Krispy Kreme's do such a horrible number on me (acid reflux, mondo sugar buzz, etc) that I limit myself to 2 a year, max. But I do love them....... And to think I always thought that was just a cute commercial!!! As far as the Krispy Kremes go, they are at their absolute best right when they come off the line. The best one is the glazed yeast. Oh my God!!! They melt in your mouth and are so light and fluffy. The bar is set so high with those doughnuts, that all other doughnuts are pale in comparison. Shooter Grrl
Yup - No 2 on the "what I miss about civilization" list is hot, fresh, Krispy Kreme's! It may even have to go to No. 1, cause I can get Starbucks after an hour drive, but no KK's anywhere within 300 miles (that I've found yet!) diehli
Y'all haven't tried donuts from a mom-and-pop donut place first thing in the morning? Now THOSE are good. All this fuss over Krispy Kreme boggles my mind. They taste like sugared plastic to me.
blackdragon
When I first moved to Las Vegas, I was eating them like they were going out of style, Then I realized that they were every where! Almost all the gas stations, grocerie stores and casinos had them! You can't throw a rock with out hitting a Krispy Cream donut around here. Oh yea my point! I have had some real bad donuts, probably been sitting there all day. Can't eat them any more! Ivan

Her regular glazed is about twice the thickness/height/aspect ratio? of a Krummy Kreme at the same weight. Then there are the Cinnamon Buns. Ohh ohh ohh and Donut Holes so big I can hardly get one in my big mouth in one bite, but oh so light and fluffy. Nolan Did I mention the extremely attractive lady owner or the other 2 attractive ladies who work there? Donuts good!
Guest Larry Cazes
Never did understand the excitement over KKs. Too much sugar on them makes it hard to taste anything else. We have a small mom and pop place about 1 mile from home that makes the best donuts and pastries! Their apple fritters are hard to resist first thing in the morning on the way to a match. Eye Cutter
when we were in Orange County last spring, my wife insisted on bringing home several boxes of KK as carry-on in the plane back here in the Philippines. We bought 10 boxes. When we landed at the airport, we finished through 3 boxes already! hahahaha!!!!
