Soft Case for 1100 Open ShotGun w/Arrendodo Shute 53"?

Recommended Posts

I've been leaving this monster ShotGun in the Trunk at the hotels because I have not been able to find a reasonably priced Soft Case that will fit my 1100 Rem 27" barrel 13 Round Tube longer than the barrel with a Arrendondo Shute and a EO Tech perched on Top. The gun measues 53", most cases come in at 52", size matters. Even in Texas people would get a little nervious if you rode the elevator with an naked shotgun.

I've decided to keep the thing for now, so I'm looking for a soft case.

I've borrowed a hard case a few times but Geez getting it in the truck you have to work a good plan out so not thinking hard case. I normally use my Cart so I don't need one to lug around the range.

What are you using?

The Akdal was easy, Uncle Mikes AR case $24.00, Not sure this one is a keeper yet.

Dang, that is rather, ummm....long.

I have a similar set up with a rem1100 with a 28" barrel, but my mag tube only goes to about the end of the barrel and the overall length is about 49-50". When I was doing traveling with guns I never liked to use the typical stuff that advertises shoot-shoot-bang-bang stuff is inside so I've used a bass guitar gig bag as a carry case for that (nice and discrete, too), but 53" is longer than a typical bass guitar gig bag will hold.

There are some other musical gig bag options, though.

Here are a couple of examples for keyboards (probably need an 88-key bag).

Speaker Stand or microphone stand bags are also a consideration as they run in the 55-60" lengths too:

I have a bunch of the gator brand stuff and they are good quality for the buck and would certainly work for car travel to matches.

Anyway, these are just a thought.

Good Luck with that!

In Cruiser ready once the first round is loaded I can chuck in a tube of 4, for 14 rounds, I may just need to get a shorter tube and give up the 14 round, capacity and go down to 13, that would knock off 3" and it could fit in a normal case, making those strolls thru the lobby less exciting.

The AR cases I have hold 5 mags in pockets and you notice people looking at the slightly exposed mag and those shiny bullets in the top, so now I turn them over.

We have a new law in Texas where hotels in the state have to Verbally tell you if they have a weapons policy the 30-06 law signs out behind the building don't count.

I have three of these 53" Beretta Greenstone shotgun cases. My M2 w/12 round tube will fit with the chute on it. I can also put my XRail in the other half. Plus there is a small side pouch that will hold a Briley 6-8 round choke case.

Brownells 54" 3-Gun bag 084-000-384 or -385. Bit pricey but will carry all your guns, has backpack straps, U.S.-made and guaranteed forever.

Those bags are nice! I have two of them. I've been saving them cause they are so nice waiting for my old bags to wear out which shouldn't be much longer.
