45dotACP
I just shot a local club match sunday. In spite of the 93 degrees outside, I had more fun than I should have. What a good sport! I had been throwing it around in my mind for a while and finding reasons not to go, but now that I have, I don't think there's anything I'd rather do on a sunday. Told my brothers and sisters and now they all want to do it too! The people there were super nice, very knowledgeable and explained all the safety regulations to me very well. After I went through a few stages, they started helping me tweak my game and helped me with strategy, shooting technique, and efficiency. I had an absolute blast and there's no way I'm not making the match next month!
lumpygravy
You'll need to check out the other USPSA... United States Practical Shooters Anonymous Welcome! Sounds like you're off to a great start!
unclebud
The more matches you go to the more you will be addicted. I have been shooting USPSA for about 8 months now and can't wait until the next match.
JPeel
I feel the same way - whether it's shooting a match, or just practicing, I cannot wait to get back out and do it again!
shilberry
Soon you'll be like the rest of us, thinking about it 24/7, airgunning whenever no one is looking... Welcome to the club!
45dotACP
Haha, family get togethers are weird....especially when they catch me dry firing in the bathroom. My parents cried and wondered what they did wrong
kevin c
Addiction? Nah, if you're strong willed, like me, you can quit anytime. [sure, it's been nineteen or so years, and I think about shooting every day. But, anytime, I'm sure I'll be able to just walk away...}
straightshot
Nobody has caught me airgunning yet. I usually airgun arrays of road signs as they come up while driving the interstate.
314shane
Are you kidding I've shot one club match three weeks ago and since then have asked every durg dealer I could find if they have any ISPC so I can get my fix. Seriously though I shot skeet competitively for 8 years and it was the most fun I've had pulling the trigger in a long time.

I had an absolute blast and there's no way I'm not making the match next month! I agree 100%. I was getting bored with shooting, and started to learn some trick shots(splitting playing card, coins, etc). I can remember the first match I went to I saw the number of cars, and was emabarrassed how poorly I might do so I backed out. A month later I wentand actually shot. Now I go all the time. Serisous addiction. If I had known 3 years ago what I know now, my gun safe would look completely different on the inside. Of course I wouldnt have bought that mid-life set of golf clubs either(what was I thinking). I am already trying to figure out how to get more matches in next year... Maybe I can convince my wife that gun ranges are great for family vacation.
kevin c
Maybe I can convince my wife that gun ranges are great for family vacation. It's been done The past few years, the Nationals were held in Las Vegas - REAL easy to turn it into a family vacation, even with kids. Unfortunately, other venues are currently being used, but perhaps some day soon, Vegas will be back. If not, many ranges are close enough to camping or other family activities to make a realistic pitch.
02doooce
I shot my first event in April, since then I've shot over 4k rounds in the last 5 months I've gone from once a month to shooting both Satuday and Sunday (when there is a local match). Oh yeah, I've started reloading as well as it only makes sense to expand the hobby.
markhawkeyeordnance
Your screwed like the rest of us. You don't end up on Enos until the sickness has completely taken hold... I take my kids to the range all the time. 8 and 11 - they love it!

Maybe I can convince my wife that gun ranges are great for family vacation. Somehow my dad got my mom on the bad wagon when I was like 8 y/o and we had a great time at all the annual matches we could attend, and it was great to hang out with the family on the weekends before I was allowed to start competing at 9-10. Granted that was like 25 years ago, but I wouldn't want it any other way looking back, just wish I stuck with the competition after I got my DL. But once bitten I don't care who you are, you will come back. On a side note, if the wife doesn't go for the family thing, maybe it's time to look for a new Wife? j/k
