Dillons Forum

About 2 months ago I called Dillon up and after waiting for 50 minutes on hold I was able to speak to someone. I was calling so I could get all my invoices emailed to me for all my purchases in 2012. Well, the guy told me that he didn't have access to that information and that I needed to call back during the week ( I called on a Saturday morning ) and speak with a supervisor. Ummmmm, OK?!?!?!

So I called back during the week and waited for over an hour and finally hung up.

I went on Dillons website and posted a topic in their Forum stating that I had called, was told this and did that. I also put on there my customer ID # and stated that the email they have on file was correct and requested my invoices be emailed to me and that I really didn't have time to wait on hold. Well, after a few days I went to go check my post and it was deleted, gone, no where to be found.. Are you serious? Yes, I made sure it posted to the forum before I clicked on the "X". My post was not rude or hateful, just asking for invoices.

Anyone else experience this on their Forum?

I havent used their forum but ive been owned every dillin press over the last 15 years. I picked up a NIB 550 from a friend that bought it new from grafs. Still unopened. Needless to say it was missing many parts direct from dillon. I called and asked for replacement parts and they proceeded to tell me that the warranty is only good for the first owner and that they couldnt send me replacement parts. Never heard that one before. Hung up and called back a few hours later and immediately got what I needed. Im thinking maybe they got some new people answering the phones that arent up to speed yet. Maybe the forum is experiencing the same.

That freaking blows, "they proceeded to tell me that the warranty is only good for the first owner and that they couldnt send me replacement parts"

Glad you got squared away.. Maybe a nice email to corporate letting them know what happened will put everyone on same page there. They are known for their CS and NO BS warranty. I don't think they want to give out wrong info on warranty issues LOL

Franco79: Send Dillon an E-Mail with your needs. The Forum is for questions about the product.

Andre3k: " Needless to say it was missing many parts direct from Dillon". Why ? My presses have always come with what I needed and had purchased. Dillon in the past has been good about giving a spare part or two to help out. If I got a press without a powder measure or a priming system I wouldn't expect Dillon to "replace" an item that hadn't been broken or that I hadn't purchased.. At what level do you expect Dillon to give free stuff that you had never bought or owned in the first place? Not trying to be antagonistic, just curious.

Dillon needs to upgrade their phone & customer handling service... their products are top notch.. but their phone situation sucks... it will eventually bite them in the butt......

I have to say my recent experience has been quite the opposite. I recently bought a used XL650 from a gentleman that hadn't used it in 15 years. It was outdated and really stiff to operate. I called Dillon to see about getting it refurbished. After waiting on hold for nearly an hour I finally talked to a very knowledgable customer service rep. He instructed me to send the press, dies and powder measures to them to get rebuilt. 2 weeks later I got it back, the press and the powder measures were completely rebuilt and the dies were replaced with carbide dies. They charged me $77.95 total and that included the cost of return shipping. I'd say that's pretty good customer service.

Every person I have talked to at Dillon has been very knowledgeable and freindly. They can not just hire someone off the street with no hands on experience to answer the phone to read out of a manual. I beleive that every person I have spoken with has had personal experience with the press.

It is worth the wait on hold to speak to someone who speaks fleunt English, has hands on experince with the product, and gives you the right answer the first time!

This isnt my first go round with Dillon precision products. Like I said before I have owned virtually every product they produce. This is the first time I ever received a brand new package that was missing parts. It was missing the cartridge bin, large powder bar and the spent primer cup and two screws. In 15 years their no bs warranty has held true until I spoke with that one rep. I made another phone call and got what I needed. No big deal just expressing one of the less pleasant experiences I had with dillon but they made it right and i will continue to buy their products.
