ParaGunner
14lbs recoil spring is what I used for 230grn 45acp.
kar45
I guess I'm in the minority here but for 190+ power factor ammo I'd use a 16 lb spring to keep it from beating the crap out of the frame. 14 lb is good for 170-175 though...hope this helps. HRider
I like a 16lb spring in my gun. I use one for 200s at 845-850 and for 230 ball at 750fps. I have friends that use 12.5 lb and 14 lb springs in their 45s. Try some different weights and see where the gun prints (how well it resets) with your load. redwoods
I use a 14 lb recoil spring in my 45 with 170pf loads. Did a lot of research on it here and that is what I came up with. 16 lb is factory on Kimber 45s with 5" barrel.
BillD
I run a 14# for 170PF loads. Factory ball at 190+, I would use a 16#.

tumbleweed1002
Tried the 14lb and 15lb no go for some reason the guide rod is binding the slide, I dont know why maby its the flat machined into the barrel for the recoilmaster.
