melissa5
My 4th match was a level 2 and I was unclassified. At that point, I didn't have anything to prove and it was a great experience. I had a ball shooting and managed to beat one person.

RJH
Go for it. Just make sure not to get rushed and flustered and get sent home. You will learn things at a major match that you would never pick up at local matches. Like I said before, make sure to be safe above anything. Have fun!! Wagonburner
Investigate all the local clubs in your surrounding area,do not be afraid to just show up and shake some hands and get to know them.Without a doubt these people you shoot with on a informal setting might very well be some of the guys you are squaded with at the big matches,it really feels better to talk over stages and laugh and enjoy the sport with people you know.Shoot all you can then shoot some more... Twoyellowlabs
When I started, my first local match was in January and shot Nationals in Vegas that September. I stunk up the place but it was great to see and watch all the pros. Had a blast and didn't get DQ'd. Go do it and have a blast. It's a great way to measure your progress for next year as well.
