TZZ Brass, Splitting, A Lot

I've shot a bit of TZZ match hardball ammo and reloaded a number of the cases. I noticed a split or two from the several hundred rounds I fired that were factory-loaded. After shooting about 50 reloads of this brass (3.6 & 3.8 of Clays with a 230 LRN), I had probably 15-20 cases with a gash down the side of the case.

I had been told by a former bullseye shooter that this brass would be great for reloading. Anyone have similar experience?

I've always had good luck with TZZ, guess you could have gotten a bad batch.

Only photo I have now, but this is after shooting a factory load. Could it be something with the gun causing this?

It didn't happen in the past, and I've only shot this brass--new and reloaded--recently.

Absolutely nothing about that round felt "off" when I fired it.

Might be related to loading. Is the pic after you tried to load it, or is it as it came from the gun ???

You might look around the chamber mouth as it would have to be done when the cartridge was moving forward.

Could it have hit something after being ejected ???

Not sure. I still have some of the new factory ammo, but I won't be able to shoot for another week or two. I'm going to keep better track of what results I get with TZZ--new and reloaded--and some other Winchester and Federal cases I have.
