bkeeler
I think I got this from Bob @ Brazos. So you want to test the weight of your recoil springs? Try a bathroom scale. Mark your guide rod with the gun in full recoil position. Take the guide rod out install your spring you want to test place the guide rod head on the scale with the spring facing up install the guide rod plug and push the plug where the mark is on your guide rod read the scale bam that's the spring weight! jmorris
There are better ideas here. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92961&hl=+spring#entry1069114 Main problem with a bathroom scale is that you are a long way from the intended use load range. You are trying to measure <20#'s with something designed to be "close" in the 100-200# range.

I use wolff springs have all been what was stated on the package. Other brand springs have not been. I do like the food scale idea. But I don't have one. bkeeler
I just measured the spring weight of the Heavy RM on a UPS scale came out to 11lbs. Same results as I got with my bathroom scale. Edited April 12, 2013 by bkeeler
