midget
I just received my brand new gen 4 g22 yesterday. I want to throw a Wilson combat barrel in it. Wilson's page said that they are not compatible with the gen 4 guns. If I wanted to use it, all I have to do is get a gen 3 recoil spring and guide rod right? Steven420
dunno what would make it not fit a gen4?.. Get a BarSto, just as accurate and fits gen4.

Rob01
Put a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel, not marked for any specific gen, in my Gen 4 35 and it worked fine with the dual capture recoil system and also an aftermarket stainless steel guide rod. gennaro
KKM barrels are pretty good also, if you didn't want to take a chance on the Wilson.
MrVvrroomm
What's wrong with the oem barrel? No one makes a stronger barrel than the oem Glock barrel. If you're getting it just so you can shoot lead in it...why? You're going to have to put a lot of lead vs jacketed through it to make up the cost of the replacement barrel. Stician
The Jager gen 4 guide rod may be an option as well
midget
Marketing Team (Wilson Combat Support) Apr 08 13:27 (CDT) Matt, Unfortunately, its more than just the guide rod assembly. While it may look like the Gen 3 and Gen 4 barrels are "nearly the same", they are not compatible. The barrel we sell will NOT work reliably in a Gen 4 pistol. Thanks for your interest. Is this something that be solved by swapping out the guide rod assembly, or are there other part compatibility issues? Thanks for your time, Matt Huhn
midget
I ended up just ordering a KKM. I'm too impatient to wait for a barsto...
Magsz
I really wish someone would tell me WHY they're not compatible...
midget
I really wish someone would tell me WHY they're not compatible... I agree. Most other manufacturer's barrels work with either...
Magsz
Ive tried calling and specifically asking and all i ever get is silence, literally, silence. I havent measured anything but i believe the only area that is different between generation 3 and 4 guns is the lug area where the recoil spring fits but again, i havent measured anything. Rob01
I want to know why too. I called Lone Wolf after reading the above as I am using their barrel in a Gen 4 and they said they work fine in either Gen 3 or Gen 3. Doesn't matter. When I shot it it didn't seem any different. midget
Does anyone know someone who has one? I would love to be able to get some measurements from it to figure this one out. The only thing I can think of is that maybe their locking area may be narrower?
