My slide was milled down and I have a slide racker installed. The racker is a sidewinder. My gunsmith milled the dovetail of the racker to about 1/2 of original thickness, cut a shallow dovetail in the slide and installed an angular binding screw to hold it in place. the dovetail in the slide is cut so you can just barely see the firing pin spring. Works just fine for me and no problems with the gun or slide cracking. My slide is cut just like yours in the rear.

The "racker" part came from Home Depoe or Lowe's.... can you guess what it is...

That's exactly what I was looking for, for my cut down slide. Already drilled and tapped and looking for something to fit, 1/2" on center holes.

I'm thinking it looks like 3/4 of a rope cleat.

I think you are right.

My bet is a draw curtain cleat not a rope cleat.
