2013 Michigan Sectional Championship, August 17-18

Recommended Posts

Detroit Sportsmen's Congress (DSC) and the Motor City Speed Shooters are pleased to announce the 2013 Michigan Sectional Championship scheduled for Saturday August 17th and Sunday August 18th.

This is a Level 2 match comprised of 9 stages plus chronograph with an estimated round count of 210. The entry fee of $90 includes a banquet on Saturday night after that day's competition is wrapped up. All shooters are invited. The banquet will be held at the DSC clubhouse located at 49800 Dequindre, Utica, MI 48317.

The match will be limited to the first 100 competitors. We will use the USPSA Self Squadding for 50 shooters on 5 squads for each day. Self Squadding will open on April 15, 2013.

As additional information becomes available, it will be posted in this thread.

Any idea on when the match application will be available? We are already booked into August so I would like to finalize everything for the Big Awesome sometime soon......as it is all about Him.

Signed,

The Handler

(I have the bail $$ and the shot records)

The latest revisions to the match application are done (those were made last night at the Hamlin Pub after practice) and we have a meeting on April 3rd with the club's business office manager (she's on vacation until then...). She has to agree to the procedure we are proposing on handling the checks made out to DSC and then it has to be approved by the Board of Directors. As some of you are aware, the cash tracking procedures were ahhhh shall we say a little loose in the past. The BoD has really tightened those up by installing receipts and cross checkable audit trails. They also banned the offenders from the club property for life. We have to meet their requirements so your patience is appreciated.

The MCSS website owner has committed to hosting the match information (application and stage design) and providing download capability. As soon as all that is accomplished, we will be good to go.

For those NROI certified Range Officers that are considering working the match, make a committment to Dave Ray (<-- click for e-mail link) and the sooner the better!! If you RO for one day, the match fee goes to $45. If you RO both days then the match is free, including the banquet.

The 2013 Michigan Sectional Championship application has now been approved and is available at this link. As the application indicates make the checks payable to Detroit Sportsmen's Congress and mail them to the address indicated on the form.

Make sure you include your e-mail address on the application as that will be used to notify you for USPSA Self-Service Squadding. Once your application is processed, you will receive an e-mail with a PIN number that is used on the squadding site.

Once the stage designs are reviewed and approved they will be added to the MotorCitySpeedShooters website.

Thanks for your patience. Self-squadding is now open so get those applications in the mail.

Thanks,

BC

Doug Jones from Acc-U-Rail has come onboard as a sponsor. Thanks Doug!

The decision was reached by the match committee to increase the number of slots to 100 per day with the match staff shooting on Friday. Match will now have 200+ capacity. The self-squadding page on USPSA will be adjusted to reflect this change.

Our first master class shooter has been registered. Russell M. will be driving in from Toledo and shooting Production.

How should staff fill out the app?

Send Match Director Dave Ray an email and ask him. I've PM'ed his e-mail address to you.

For others with the same question, Dave's e-mail is available on the match application at MotorCitySpeedShooters.com Shoot him an e-mail and ask how he wants to handle the staff applications and payments.

We have our first GM registered for the match as his application came in over the weekend. If you want to work the match, contact Dave Ray as he is administrating the range staff. Match staff will shoot on Friday and work either Saturday and/or Sunday.

Just sent Dave an email offering to help as needed.

Excellent. Thanks for the support.

Is the match full??

Not at this point. If you go to the USPSA Self-Squad webpage (<-- click) you can view the status of each day and squad.

Bill,

Bring some match applications to the match at WCRH this weekend to pass out. If you remind me, I will make the announcement regarding the match at the Shooters meeting. Good job on getting the stages out in a PDF format.

The July 15th match fee increase is less than a week away. We will be using the postage mark as the date for the increase so get that paperwork in the mail!

For those that are coming from Canada, please make sure you write "AirMail" of "Air Express" on the outside of your envelope. If you leave that off, it could take up to ten (10) days for your entry to reach it's destination. We already have one entry that was mailed on July 2nd and it still has not shown up.
