feenz
i would like to try N310,, though i somehow think it wont be any better than CLAYS.. harmon I have (8lbs of it)and it's way snappier than clay's and when it get's warmer out watch your primers! Your findings are strange. I have always know vihtavuori for not fluctuating with temperature changes like other powders? Have you ever loaded vv 310 in 40 cal major with 180 or 200's? Adam B
I have and it is sweet, one of the softest loads I have ever shot, 4 grains over a 200 grain bullet loaded to 1.2 OAL with a small rifle primer is a sweet load!
Harmon
i dont think i want to shoot any major N310 loads in our Texas summers...and having shot Clays, TITEGROUP and N320 side by side in the same gun..and all the same PF (within reason) i like the titegroup load the best... feels like my open guns recoil, snappy and quick. steel1212
WOrked up some loads for my W2RCG limited gun lol. New KKM barrel Hornady 180 HAPS 5.1 UC 1.180 OAL Win nickel once fired 176 PF about 55 degrees Tried dropping the charge to 4.9 and barrel got 166 at 55 degrees. I want to chrono it again. The readings were all over the place. I had FPS from 889 to 967 in a 20 round string. I also want to try E3 and TG with jacketed. steel1212
I must have a fast barrel or something KKM barreled STI 4.3 TG 180 HAPS 1.180 OAL Winchester nickel brass Crimp is around .4195ish PF is coming in at 166 This was in 50 degree weather if I recall correctly maybe colder I've since bumped up to 4.4 but I need to rechrono. Depending on what 4.4 chronos at in the chold I may bump on up to 4.5 for my next run or for majors. Edited January 4, 2008 by steel1212

kframe_mike
In a stock barreled G22,I'm going to do pretty much exactly what Harmon is doing.Except with Fed 100s and FMJs.I'm pretty much right there with 4.5 grns, but thats at like 4500-5000 ft altitude and maybe 40 deg F.I'm going to bump it up to at least 4.7 grn.I'll be able to chrono as the temps get warmer to see if anything changes.Looks very promising though.-Mike

Groups better than I can hold at 25 yds. 1.50" and at 50 yds. it hit where the sights pointed everytime (couple were pointed a bit high on the plate, but that's where they went) final group at 50 yds. was 3.50" (- the flyers). MustangGreg66
we shot these at A4 over the chronoWell used STI edge Winchester brass Win Small rifle primers 180 MG JHP 4.4 grains CLAYS 1.200 OAL 6 shot average 165.1 at 34 degrees. Harmon Is this just the normal Hodgdon Clays? I bought a bunch of it and got mixed up with the Universal that I meant to buy. So now I have 8# of normal Clays and Hodgdon recomends a max of 3.5gr for around 850 fps, not making major at all. They stop short because of pressure signs. I've loaded to 3.6 and it seems fine in my Glock G35, but I'm warry of going higher. What do you think?

Harmon
i would stay away from major clays loads in a glock. even at 1.200 length, pressure was up there. Harmon

Harmon Yea, thats what I was afraid of.... I guess I'll start out shooting production class and then I just need to meet minor power factor so I could work up some low powered loads to burn up the powder I bought... but at 3.5 gr it's gonna take a long time to go through the 8#, lol
