thebigdogg316 Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 hey folks, i am loading 45 acp with clays and rainiers 230 gr jhp. i have found recipes but what you guys think. 1. 3.9gr of clays, 230 gr bullet and 1.25 oal (176 pf) and 2. 4.0 gr of clays, 230 gr bullet and 1.245 oal (168 pf) what are some recipes that people use for clays powder? njl Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 Those are more or less the same recipe. Depending on your barrel, 4gr is likely somewhere just under or over major PF. Jaxshooter Posted March 6, 2013 Share Posted March 6, 2013 I load 4.0 gr of Clays at 1.245 for my 45 ACP loads. It is a hair hotter than needed for SS 170 PF but I use the same load for my 625 revolver and it is about 167 PF. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RH45 Posted March 24, 2013 Share Posted March 24, 2013 I ran Clays in my .45s for several years, but, don't use it anymore because of the temp. sensitivity.
