WSF and 38 SPL

Sorry if this has already been discussed (I scrolled down quite a ways and found nothing on it).

I'm assuming the reason WSF is not recommended for 38 SPL w/ 158 gr bullets is because it is too slow, and in a low pressure cartridge with a light bullet, the powder does not burn properly.

Am I correct ?

Yes. The case volume on a .38 Spl or Long Colt is far too large for small charges of medium speed powders. You get a filthy, incomplete burn with lots of soot and erratic velocities. WSF is great in a 9mm however. 3.4 - 3.5 grains under a 147 grain is a great Minor load.... soft, accurate, and clean.
