DPGDirk
I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the consistency on this combo. I'm loading .45acp- currently Berry's 200 grain RS bullets. That silly coil feeder spring is a mess. I've messed with it, but I can't get the thing to feed consistently. Sometimes it will double drop 2 bullets at a time or won't drop any bullet at all. The coil spring seems to be pulling on the tube and binding it, so it won't drop back down freely to release 1 bullet like it should. If I stretch the spring, it fills up with bullets that won't make it all the way to the feeder tube. I've tried all sorts of ways to secure the spring and have added a little weight to the plastic feeder tube to try to make it drop down better, but no success. Seems to me that maybe the answer is to either position the hopper in a way that the bullets fall straight down into the tube or fab some kind of hard tube that will let me position the coil spring directly over the feeder tube, so it doesn't get pulled to the side when the toolhead goes down. Any ideas here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Dirk
SD1
First nothing must be touching bullet dropper. For temporary fast fix. Attach a hanger on case feed support. Aim toward bullet dropper. About 6 inches from top. Use clear plastic tube around bullet dropper spring. Pull spring toward dropper. Zip tie spring at plastic tube point. (Plastic tube prevents zip tie from blocking bullets) Make approx 5-6 inches loose spring on feeder side. Test and adjust so feeder goes up and down like butter. No extra weight will be required. In time. Make a nice stainless bracket.
sauza45
Is this the new style from DAA if so put a rubber band around the spring and the powder measure tube to hold in place
DPGDirk
Thanks guys! Also spoke to Rick (Mr. Bullet feeder) and he spent a half hour or so on the phone with me today. Very helpful! That's great customer service right there. Unit is working perfectly now...
