PhilD
I currently use a Dillon 9mm resizing die for 9x19, but noticed that brand new brass will only fit about half way in to it, until it's reszied. The same brass is a perfect fit in my case cage before resizing. Just out of interest I dropped some of the same new brass into a Hornady 9x23 resizing die and it almost goes all the way in. This got me wondering if using the 9x23 resizing die would help in reducing the "thin waist" I get on my 9x19 reloads. Thoughts? Thanks. Edit: Never mind figured it out for myself. It doesn't work, the bullet is too lose in the case. Edited February 26, 2013 by PhilD
Steve RA
You want the "wasp waist" as it really helps resist bullet setback.
PhilD
Thanks, I gave it a try and figured that out, bullets were very lose in the brass.
Scott in OK
I actually size my 9x23 with a 38 super sizing die and then size it again with the 9mm die. I like the results that I get doing it this way. Scott
