Jlnel
I have a bunch of nasty mags, i want to refinish, is there an easy way to strip them-i liquid or something or just sand? And is there a rattle can color that will closely match the finish- is it just flat black? Thanks.
anachronism
If they're aluminum, I'd just scotch brite them and let them be, if I messed with them at all. I'm not a fan of painting mags.
practical_man
As anachronism said, scotch Brite is the answer for aluminum mags. That's what we do at work. Then shoot a little tan or green krypton on them. P Surface prep is everything. With them down with acetone after scotchbrite. Wear rubber gloves to keep finger prints off. Try to keep paint off the feed lips when you paint. Use light coats. -john
Jaxshooter
You can powder coat them. Powder coating holds up well if they are properly prepped.
Steve RA
If they are steel blue them, aluminum just throw mag body in tumbler for a few hours and see how it looks to you. Don't like it, at least, it will be clean for whatever the next step may be.

Steve RA
Put them in with some brass, it will help knock the paint off.
