scout308
I have a Wilson Combat CQB Elite in 38 Super arriving in a month and from the photos the test target shows the initial test firing at Wilson was a load of 6.0gr of WSF with a 124gr projectile. Whats the thoughts on sticking to this load for IPSC?
lee blackman
I recommend giving vv 3n38 a try. Edited February 19, 2013 by lee blackman
scout308
I recommend giving vv 3n38 a try. What load with that powder do you recommend mate?
lee blackman
I recommend starting around 9.6 grains and work up (or down). There are alot of guys who like IMR 7625 too. But you'll find a plethora 38 super load data on this site. Do you have access to a chronograph to work with?
scout308
Yeah ive got access to a chrono. Stick to the 124gr or go heavier?
superdude
Wait a minute! ! ! lee blackman is referring to a MAJOR PF load with that charge weight and a 124 bullet. scout308 are your trying to make Major? The WSF load you indicated will probably not make major. It would work fine for minor loads. It depends on what you're trying to achieve with your ammo. slimshady
i used to run a 145 gr lrn with 7.8 of AA9. i think it made about 130 pf when i was shooting esp. i'd have to look at my notes to be sure on the pf though.
