DougCarden
To Steve RA and all the other "Gougher watchers"..... I have had to raise my prices on all my ammo because my brass cost has almost tripled, powder has gone up over $10 a pound, and I am paying retail plus for jacketed or plated bullets just so my commercial accounts still have ammo to sell, and to keep my valued competition shooter receiving ammo to shoot matches. I am having to ration all my normal bianchi shooters to one case of xtps because I cannot get the bullets and want to make sure everyone will have the good stuff for the big show. I am not trying to pick a fight with you but educate you. When you make broad generalizations like that which are not alway true it does affect people and their business. This is a normal cycle in business, and it sucks for all parties. Just so you don't take this personal, The first beverage is on me wherever we shoot together.... Steve RA
I have absolutely no problem with people in business - such as yourself - raising prices when your cost of raw materials goes up, however, I do have a problem with a business - when their suppliers prices don't go up - raising prices a vastly unreasonable amount - such as I believe Cheaper Than Dirt has done, based on the prices I saw in one of their stores yesterday. Some of the ammunition wasn't too bad, considering the lack of it today, but when you have a whole wall of AR-15s, of various mfrs, and they are all $1,999.95 it seems a little fishy. perrysho
Mr. ANACHRONISM, It's wonderful to see you are so loyal to your local businesses/dealers. We have greedy bas selling $1000 ARs for $2150 and used police ARs for the same. Primers, Bullets, Powder for about double. Ammo crazy prices. Maybe you will buy supplies for me from em honest dealers in your world. LOL CYA and be SAFE, Perry OH ! I am 76 year Cancer patient still shoot & re-load, have the money to buy what I want, But it POs me to be scammmmed. We have the "BEST GOVERMENT MONEY WILL BUY". We are in deep SHEIT when Washington starts rubbing off on plain folks, my OPINION. IF you shot 3 - Gun your gonna feel the sting.
ben b.
Doug, Whatever the market will effing bear is the correct price. If it won't sell, the prices will drop. When things are rare, they cost more. Diamonds cost more than iron ore for a reason. Everyone is a free-market fan until it gets tough. Then, they suddenly become communists and want fixed "fair" prices. Ignore the bleating of the sheep/"fair weather free marketeers" and sell for fair value, which is determined by the market. Buzi
Yep. The only way to slow demand is to make a price adjustment. Higher prices weed out those that determine it is too expensive to buy. A properly functioning market will see the increased demand and more producers have a chance to produce to meet that demand, and put downward price pressure in place. Right now, far too producers producing far too few products to meet the demand. It is that farking simple. A artificial centrally run economy can not flex to meet demand. Ours is damn near that bad. It is so difficult for a new start up to begin a business these days we might as well be farking Red Communist Russia. You can thank your neighbors that vote in socialists each and every year. They want to be baby coddled by the government and wake up one day in a state of shock realizing they are slaves to that government. Those of us old enough should remember how it was for Soviet Russia. How the common person had to wait for hours for a damn loaf of bread. How they thought toilet paper was a damn luxury. .. the list was endless. We are heading that direction thanks to your local Progressive. If I see a vendor price that is 'gouging' I just dont' buy. Unless i damn well want that thing they are selling. That is what determines value, the buyer. I point my bony finger of blame (well actually it is a somewhat pudgy finger) at the nitwits that voted in the crew of misfits that run this government. I'm not going to blame a business responding to demand in a natural way. I can just not buy and I won't if prices are too high. Okay, Ih've had my rant for the day. I think I can go watch the next episode of 24 on Netflix.
perrysho
Hey BUZI ! If'in thats you in the picture you are "One Ugly AZZZZZ TEXAN". LOL Shot at two clubs, both em has an area of about a million people to draw from. Most shoots maybe 60 - 70 shows up. Special / Super Duper shoots maybe a 100. Now what's that tell you. I'm a dumb azzz hillbilly, tells me we shooters don't have much political CLOUT. Then in that lil group you have a group of HOT SHOTS that romances back sides to get one em multi colored Billboard Shirts & Hats. NO MONEY for Gasoline, Food, Entry Fees, or AMMO. But thats a SPONSORSHIP. YEA RIGHT !. Zero Political CLOUT in that bunch. JMOpinion. All this started with CRAZY/ mentally disturbed with weapons. Then you have Crazy Washington Folks Fighting like dogs to take away any MONEY for health care and/or help for the Mentally Disturbed. My Opinions. We The People have the "Best Goverment Money Will Buy" and they wanna take our guns, folks might want to think about that a lil. Just maybe that was what the 2nd ammendment was all about. Our FORE FATHERS was a lot smarter than the crowd now. Until the people force TERM LIMITS nothing is gonna change. A group of Lawyers sitting on their dead azzzes in Washington that's never worked a day in their lifes, what do they know about working people???? Ask em what a gallon of milk cost ! My RANT !
