thebigdogg316 Posted February 14, 2013 Share Posted February 14, 2013 hey folks. i am going to be using a new bullet soon. i am switching from 230 gr cmj to a 230 jhp. i will be using montana gold 230 jhp and winchester 231. does anyone have a recipe for this bullet and powder. i tried to look in my books and found nothing. FLSlim Posted February 20, 2013 Share Posted February 20, 2013 I doubt the recipe would be much different than you are using with CMJ. You should be able to work up from data you have for other brands of JHP. A nice, soft target load can be had in the area of 5.0 gr of 231. Be sure to plunk test your new bullets though, as the OAL of MG HPs will very likely be quite a bit shorter than the CMJ.
