A new restaurant is under construction in Louisville. One of the construction companies is non-union. A local union thinks it is terribly unfair to use non-union labor so it has been picketing for a month. The funny part? The picketers are non-union.

Think you've been treated with less respect than you deserve?

Pygmy artists housed in Congo zoo _43998101_tent2_203.jpg The pygmy artists have been given one tent to house 20 people Human rights activists have criticised the organisers of a music festival in the Republic of Congo for housing pygmy musicians in a tent at a zoo. Other artists at the Festival of Pan-African Music (Fespam) are staying in hotels in the capital, Brazzaville.

The organisers say the grounds of Brazzaville zoo are closer to the pygmies' natural habitat.

But the pygmy musicians say they had expected to be housed properly while staying in the city.

Military Intelligence perhaps?

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) -- A unit of 25 military paratroopers landed inside the perimeter of a state prison, but not to quell a riot or attempt some movie-script breakout. They just goofed.

The paratroopers, armed with exercise rifles that shoot rubber bullets, landed in a corn field outside the Fremont Correctional Institute early Thursday, Colorado Department of Corrections spokeswoman Katherine Sanguinetti said.

Guards escorted them off the grounds with no violence, she told the Rocky Mountain News.

Prisoner sues Vick for $63 billion

By JENNIFER BRETT

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Published on: 07/27/07

As if Michael Vick didn't have enough troubles, he may have to fork over $63 billion — that's billion, with a B — if one Jonathan Lee Riches prevails in court.

The aptly named Riches' lawsuit against Vick, filed this week in U.S. District Court in Richmond, was handwritten. That's because Riches is currently a guest of the Graybar Hotel in South Carolina (it's not clear which town; his handwriting's a little hard to read). The lawsuit does not explain what landed Riches in the clink, but does spell out a number of dastardly allegations: that Vick supposedly stole Riches' dogs for dogfighting purposes, opened credit cards in Riches' name and stole his copyrighted property. ("Mr. Vick uses my name to sell T-shirts," the suit alleges at one point).

But wait. It gets worse.

Riches claims that Vick sold the pilfered pooches on eBay and used the proceeds to purchase missles from the Iranian government, that he has "plead (sic) allegiance to Al-quaeda" and has subjected Riches to "microwave testing."

Riches is demanding $63 billion "backed by gold and silver." Should he prevail against Atlanta's erstwhile sports hero, at least another hometown team will benefit: he wants the loot delivered by Atlanta-based UPS.

I thought everyone knew you had to have a bag to rob a bank:

NEW HUDSON, Mich. (AP) - A bank teller apparently flustered a would-be bank robber - and foiled a robbery - after asking where the suspect's bag was to carry off the money, authorities said.

Oakland County Sheriff's Detective Tom Bisio said the suspect entered a Chase Bank branch Monday wearing a hooded sweat shirt, sunglasses and winter gloves. He handed the teller a small piece of cardboard that read, "Give me your money."

"He told a teller to 'hurry up,' but when she asked him if he had a bag to put the money into, it must have flustered him," Bisio told The Detroit News for a story Tuesday. "He ran off without any cash."

I gotta laugh at this stuff, but only because I have a keen sense of the absurd.

Heterophobia anyone? Diversity is for everyone. But some people are more entitled to diversity than others:

Just what they need, more rights... <_< they haven't been right from the start...

The Brits have figured out why their gun crime is up 37%. It's the music. Rock and Roll drove kids to drugs and sex. Rap makes them shooting mad.

(it certainly has that affect on me.)

I'm not sure I understand this at all.

I thought guns were banned in the UK.

How can gun crime be up 37%?
