Bigbully
New to reloading. After looking through numerous manuals and on line load data, I cant find any concrete answers. Example: The Sierra manual shows the load data for my bullet weight, cal, and powder (180gr, .40, WST). However that data is for a JHP bullet. I intend to load the Hornady 180gr FMJ-FP, do I have to adjust the load at all? Is bullet weight the only concern, and the shape is not a factor? Thanks in advance! The_Vigilante
Yes, you can use the same data but start at the bottom of the load chart and work your way up developing your load. Your OAL could be different for different bullets depending on their ogive. Make sure you chamber check your bullets to make sure they fit correctly-use dummy loads to make sure the ammo cycles without any hangups.
