Nimitz
What is the generally accepted number of rounds fired for changing the recoil spring? How about for the other springs ... Trigger, safety plunger and striker springs?
lee blackman
From my understanding all single coil recoil springs replacement life cycle is 3000 to 5000 cycles. I know my current G34 spring is awfully close to 10k. Good rule of thumb, if your a competitive or regular shooter, replace and overhaul your gun and change your mags springs once a year. I have never changed an extractor or striker spring in any of my glocks, which is probably a bad thing. But I learn the hard way and yet to have one fail. I have a first gen from 1988 with original springs, other than the recoil spring. And wow, does it have some rounds thru it.
Nimitz
Ok thx, I put all new springs in when I changed my trigger about 6 months ago and am easily at 10k so I probably should put in a new recoil spring at the least ...
Flexmoney
Springs are cheap, yet vital. We (I) should replace them more often than I do.
