BASE772
Ok, I've had my new STI Edge for about two months and put 3000 rounds through it. MG 180 gr JHP's with and OAL of 1.135. Not one problem, feeds fine with all eight of my untuned 140mm mags. Using 4.2 gr of Titegroup at this time. My chrono will be arriving soon and I want to make a major load for USPSA. Can you think of any reason why is should switch to a longer OAL for a Major load? I know this is beating a dead horse but had to ask. Thanks
56hawk
Can't think of any. The only reason I load long is to get the gun to function. Only other reason would be to drop the pressure, but that shouldn't be an issue with a 40, more of a concern with 9 major.
ProGunGuy
one of the reason people load long is that some mags will get rounds stuck in them when fully loaded. did you test your mags fully loaded? Also, the load you listed, it seems a little light to make major PF. Of course i am sure you will verify when your chrono arrives
Steve L
That was exactly my load when I shot 180s...I didn't change my OAL since it was reliable and the same bullet could go in my G35
