Flood
I just bought a M&P 9mm and realized when I got it home that it has a disconnect. Anyone know how to eliminate this feature? Thanks, Ken Edited December 29, 2012 by Flood
ProGunGuy
pop out the sear block and push the pin holding the disconnect and remove. reassemble in reverse. you will need a need spring that is slightly longer to push the take down lever. i got one out of a pen and cut to length
Jeff9mmM&P
Ken, I've been there and done that and it's not too hard. You need to remove the sear block from the frame to remove the mag disconnect feature of your pistol. Here is a link to Dan Burwell's step by step instructions to do this and this will solve your problem: http://www.burwellgunsmithing.com/M&P2.htm Hope this helped. diehli
You can also remove the sear disconnector while you're at it and takedown happens just like a Glock (you pull the trigger instead of flipping the lever).

I'm not sure if the gun would be production legal if you remove the sear disconnect since it serves as a saftey to make you look down the gun to verify its clear to break it down but I could be wrong. But yes, once the mag saftey is removed you can break it down just by pulling the trigger with out doing anything with the sear disconnect lever. partyboy424
Don't remove the sear disconnector. If something breaks like a trigger return spring or something in the strikerblock, or trigger bar. You can't get the top end off. Realized this when I installed the FSS and hadn't adjusted the trigger loop yet
mcracco
SSS sells a longer sear disconnect spring for this purpose.
Jayce
http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=1058 Don't remove the sear disconnect. It's like what partyboy424 said. And the Burwell diagram helped me out a lot.
