prodfastc
plane and simple if I buy a 22 conversion can it mess up my frame where I would have to refit my main slide to the frame I was looking at the STI/Tact Sol kit and would hate to half to buy a whole new frame to build pistol just for practice
chirpy
I have a number of fitted 1911's and one unfitted. My TacSol .22 conv. will only fit on the non fitted frame. You might have to have the cu fitted to your frame (not the other way around). To answer your concern, once your cu is fitted it should not hurt the fit of your main slide. jwhittin
All the 22 conversion kits I've seen and the one I have are aluminum slides. Not likely to cause any problems with a steel frame. If it fits properly and operators smoothly, even on a LW frame it should be fine. Just make sure you install it according to the manual and periodically check for signs of unusual wear.
