Suches
After beginning reloading about 8 months ato, and loading 000s of rounds since then, I got a squib in my G17. Bullet was a Montana Gold 147gr CMJ. Must've been when the phone rang, dangit. Questions: What's the best way to clear it? Will it damage the Glock rifling? Should I test it in any way to make sure it's not damaged? Thanks!
Tman33_99
Best way is to disassemble. Place barrel on bench, muzzle up, and use a brass rod or wooden dowle rod. If wood, try to be just slightly smaller than the barrel diameter. Place the rod in the muzzle end and tap the bullet out thru the chamber with a mallet or hammer. Barrel should be fine. You can use a steel or alumininum rod if all else fails, but brass is best, wood would be my next choice....They are soft enough to not do any damage, even though that would be unlikely even with a steel rod, unless it is a really deep squib that is more stubborn than usual. Hope it helps Tman
shred
Unless you fired another round behind it, there's nothing to worry about. Pound the bullet out and drive on.
Skywalker
Here and here you can find similar threads. Or, you could use the search function with "squib" as keyword in topic titles only.
